In this analysis, we will be looking at the first four measures of O Canada!, the national anthem of Canada.

The first step in analysis is to determine the key. Since the key signature contains three flats, we have two possibilities: E-flat major or C minor.

The first chord contains an E-flat, B-flat, E-flat, and G - an E-flat major triad. Since this is I in E-flat Major, we are most likely in that key.
